The Pine Hill Drive-In Theatre is a small family owned theater in Southeast Missouri, two miles East of Piedmont, MO. A tourist hub for campers, boaters, fisherman and floaters, nestled among the beautiful Missouri Pines at the foot of what is locally known as Pine Hill. Nearby tourist attractions include Clearwater Lake, Wappappello Lake and Sam A. Baker State Park that brings many visitors to the Drive-In each year.
Pine Hill Drive-In was one of two theaters built by Mr. and Mrs. Jeffries in the mid 1950's. The other was an indoor theater built in downtown Piedmont, where they transported the projection system to during the winter months. The downtown theater was destroyed in the 1980's by an arsonist, leaving the community of Piedmont with only one theater, the Drive-In. Still today this is the only theater in this community.
The Drive-In has seen many new owners over the years and the community is always concerned whether the new owners are going to keep it open. Pine Hill Drive-In had been up for sale for the past two years and the community again were concerned until March 2013 when Mrs. Kimberly Uhl and her husband Randy, of Poplar Bluff, MO bought it and opened the gates for the first time on May 3, 2013. Knowing of the digital conversion and the many other updates that the old Drive-In needs, they are determined to keep the theater going for the community that loves and treasures their Drive-In.
